Project Management Body of Knowledge

The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is a widely recognised standard guide for project management created and maintained by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PMBOK Guide provides a framework and best practices for managing projects effectively.

The guide covers various project management processes, knowledge areas, and concepts that are essential for successful project delivery. It outlines the five process groups of project management: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. These process groups are further divided into ten knowledge areas:

Each knowledge area covers specific processes, inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs that are relevant to that area. The PMBOK Guide provides guidance on project management processes and helps project managers to ensure that projects are well-planned, executed, and controlled to achieve the desired objectives within the defined constraints.
